A Reception for Time Travellers

  • Odessa Private Vintage Bar

You are cordially invited to A Reception for Time Travellers, to be held in the past, on Friday 23rd October 2015.

"A Reception for Time Travellers" was a multidemensional shindig incorporating live music, inspiring talks, fancy dress, time machines, time capsules & interactive time travel activities.

This party was inspired by a reception hosted by Prof. Stephen Hawking in 2009, which no-one attended, as he didn't issue invites until 2013. But we had a full house!

A RECEPTION FOR TIME TRAVELLERS included:
> Fancy Dress: Favourite Era - Past or Future
> TALKS:
Time travel experts from different fields presented entertaining and enlightening talks discussing space time, the shape of time, portals to the past, futurology and more.
> Artist & Time Machine Inventor, Sinead McDonald
> Author of "A Time Traveller's Guide to Life, the Universe & Everything", Ian Flitcroft
> Astronomy writer & lecturer, John Flannery
> LIVE MUSIC:

> Dublin musical chrononaut PATRICK KELLEHER delighted the audience by creating portals to the past with an exclusive set of cover versions from different eras.
> Local experimental musicians GODHATESDISCO ended the night with a raucous set of post-apocolyptic, futuristic, sci-fi soundscapes
> TIME MACHINES & TIME CAPSULES:
Audience members interacted with time capsules and time machines set up in the venue, and contributed to the Time Capsule to Mars (a selection of photographs and messages from the event were included in the Time Capsule To Mars project organised by MIT Space Propulsion Lab)
